Museum of History
The History Museum in Restábal brings together El Valle’s recent archaeological finds —among them the rock-art stelae— alongside Andalusi-era pieces from the Nasrid castle and the old Arab irrigation channels.
Barranco Luna
A unique geological canyon in El Valle de Lecrín, with marine fossils from the Tethys Sea. A waymarked trail suitable for all levels, among almond trees, olive groves and dry-stone terraces.
Carrera de la Naranja
6.6 km along country lanes through orange groves. Over 400 runners. A unique sporting event in El Valle de Lecrín, held every 28 February as a prelude to the Feria de la Naranja.
Church of San Juan
The San Juan Evangelista Church in Melegís is a Site of Cultural Interest: a Mudéjar coffered ceiling and 16th-century paintings over a former Nasrid mosque.
About El Valle
El Valle is made up of three villages —Restábal, the capital and seat of the Town Hall; Melegís, the gateway to the valley and home of the Feria de la Naranja; and Saleres, the smallest of the three — joined as a single municipality since 1972, in the heart of El Valle de Lecrín.
